Joining DEM was a spontaneous decision on Solyana’s end as she sought to actively pursue a community of similar like-minded individuals passionate in the healthcare field, all while growing professionally and personally through pushing herself out of her comfort zone. Since joining DEM, Solyana has gained a second family away from home and has surrounded herself with supportive individuals she would like to spend the rest of her undergraduate career with. Through DEM, she has grown to develop valuable professional and social skills to aid her journey in navigating the healthcare field. Solyana plans to apply to optometry school after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in pursuit of becoming an optometrist. When Solyana isn’t napping, you can find her watching Korean dramas, going for late night food drives, or splurging on boba.
