Sophie joined DEM because of the passion and genuinity she saw in the individuals and community within the organization. She is a third year who currently holds a position at the HIV Neurobehavioral Research Center within the UCSD Dept. of Psychiatry, and has researched in multiple behavioral labs. Since becoming a member of DEM, Sophie has gotten the opportunity to be exposed to multiple healthcare fields through participation in events and workshops. She hopes to utilize the confidence and experience gained in DEM to pursue her medical career in pediatric psychiatry. Outside of her professional interests, Sophie enjoys karaoke with friends, spontaneous thrift trips, and binging the movie Black Swan.
