The brothers and sisters of Delta Epsilon Mu are committed to serving the community by advocating health education and care and through active participation in service activities, fundraising, and outreach programs in addition to uniting students of diverse backgrounds with interest in the varying health fields through leadership, professional development, and brotherhood. Members are given the opportunity to directly participate in health-oriented workshops and discussions, thereby attaining access to pertinent academic and career information through association with professors, advisors, career professionals, alumni members, and fellow active members.
From the foundation of the four fraternity pillars, we strive to create a community dedicated to service, professional development, and social networking.
Delta Epsilon Mu is the nation’s premier professional pre-health co-ed fraternity. Founded on the pillars of Loyalty, Dedication, Friendship, and Support, Delta Epsilon Mu’s Alpha Lambda Chapter here at UC San Diego has created an inclusive and supportive resource for pre-health students as they pursue various health fields by offering health education and service activities.
These unprecedented times have shown us how much of an impact we can make as we continue our journey into healthcare. Over the past few months, we made 1,200 masks for underprivileged communities in Tijuana and fundraised for humanitarian organizations fighting COVID-19, Black-centered organizations, and those impacted by the California wildfires. Alpha Lambda Chapter is more motivated than ever to give back to our community.
I wholeheartedly believe that being in healthcare is about something bigger than our individual selves, and the people in this chapter have continuously amazed me by showing how much they are willing to dedicate themselves to others. While we are embarking our own journeys, there is no doubt that the strength of this community allows us to collectively work towards the same goal.
In love and community,
Alpha Lambda Chapter, Delta Epsilon Mu

"DEM pushed me to expose myself to considering different health tracks and meeting people I would have never met otherwise. I met my best friends through DEM, and it was easily my best decision I made in college."

“Founding Delta Epsilon Mu has always been a privilege to me because of what it can do for the student body and the community around us. Having the capacity to not only change ourselves but others for the better is our strongest asset. This is legacy I wish to impart.”
