Christine wanted to join DEM in order to immerse herself with people who were pursuing similar passions as she was. She also wanted to gain more professional skills that she could apply in the future and in her daily life. After joining, she has acquired more confidence in herself to become a healthcare professional. DEM has taught her a number of skills as well as shown her parts of myself that she has yet to improve on. On top of it all, she’s gained a community that she can genuinely call my true friends. In the near future, she hopes to take a gap year in order to fulfill PCE hours for PA school, to study for the GRE, and if needed, to finish any remaining classes required outside of UCSD. She would also like to be involved in more public health efforts in her free time and directly give back to her community. In her free time, she enjoys baking, skateboarding with friends, exploring new places, catching sunsets, going to viewpoints, watching scary movies, and listening to music.
